Our Editorial Standards

Our Editorial Standards

Teeth are health, not just cosmetics. That means anything we publish about them should be held to a higher standard than a typical brand blog. Here's exactly how our content is made — and what we refuse to do.

Who writes it

Our content is written and reviewed by the DrWhiten formulation team — the same people who develop our formulas. Our team has spent two decades formulating and manufacturing oral care products (toothpaste, strips, sprays) for brands sold across the United States and internationally.

We are not dentists, and we don't pretend to be. What we have is hands-on formulation and manufacturing experience, and we stay inside that lane.

Where our information comes from

Every factual claim in our articles is grounded in publicly available research. We draw on:

  • NIH / PubMed — the US National Library of Medicine's research database
  • American Dental Association (ADA) — consumer guidance and scientific statements
  • Peer-reviewed dental journals — including the Journal of Dentistry and the Journal of Clinical Dentistry

We link to our sources wherever possible so you can read them yourself and check our work.

What we don't do

  • We don't give medical advice. Our content is educational. If you have tooth pain, ongoing discomfort, bleeding gums, or any dental concern, see a dentist — not a toothpaste blog.
  • We don't claim to treat, cure, or prevent any condition. DrWhiten products are cosmetics. They clean and whiten; they are not drugs and they don't treat disease.
  • We don't use expert endorsements we haven't earned. We don't claim dentist approval or clinical endorsement that we don't have.
  • We don't publish numbers we can't stand behind. If we state a specific result or concentration, it comes from testing we can show you. Until then, we describe how something works instead of quoting a figure.

Our bias, stated plainly

We make and sell DrWhiten products, so we have an obvious interest in you buying them. We'd rather say that out loud than dress our content up as neutral journalism. When we mention our own products, we explain what they do and what's in them — then leave the decision to you.

Corrections

If anything we've published is inaccurate, out of date, or missing context, email us at support@drwhiten.com. We'll correct it and note the change.

No pain, white gain. Just use DrWhiten.
